Reiki Energy Healing
What Is It?

Reiki is a form of subtle energy healing performed on a body table. Formulated in Japan, it is said to be based on ancient Tibetan Buddhist energy healing practices.

Practitioners access life energy by connecting with their minds to inner symbols and sensations of subtle vibration in their hands. They then channel that energy into and around clients' bodies. Hands are usually placed just above the body at specific positions and held for 3-5 minutes.

Clients often report a sense of deep relaxation accompanied by the sensation of warmth and sometimes tingling. Peace, serenity and feelings of well-being are also commonly reported.

Life energy is said to run through specific energy pathways in the body, sometimes called meridians. These energy pathways feed organs and cells and support their functioning. Illness, in this model, is seen as a disruption of the natural flow of life energy. As energy blockages are cleared, through energy healing modalities, the resulting free flow of life energy restores balance and health.

Benefits Of Reiki

This and other forms of energy work support the natural healing processes of the body and can assist in clearing physical and psychological toxins, and pain. By balancing the flow of life energy it helps the body help itself. In this way it can be of benefit for a wide range of health issues. Energy healing can have a profound effect on our bodies, minds and emotions. It can be of great support in reducing pain and relieving stress.

Training

There are various schools of training, most of which teach three levels. Teachers are called Masters, a title that is given to those who have completed the third level.

Schedule a Session

The fee for Reiki in western Massachusetts is $80 for a 45 minute session and $150 for a 60 minute session.
